About Me

BIOStan Bindell

I am a longtime reporter and teacher on Native American and environmental issues in Arizona, My journalism career includes stints with the Prescott Courier and as editor of the Navajo Hopi Observer. Over the years I’ve covered many environmental issues, including uranium mining on the Navajo and Hopi reservations, the ski resort on the San Francisco Peaks, and proposed mining in or near the Grand Canyon. I taught media to high-school students for over 20 years on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations, expanding my understanding of Native youth and the interests of minority teen readers. I continue to write for Prescott Courier, Navajo Hopi Observer, Quad City Business News and other papers.
